PGA Jr League Overview

-Expert Coaching: Behind each and every PGA Jr. League team is a PGA Coach providing a safe, caring and organized environment for every child to become (and stay) a golfer. These experts in the game are provided with flexibility to create a coaching program that works best for their players and families.

-Teams with Friends: Easily one of the best parts of PGA Jr. League is the team component! All kids will be a part of a team that may consist 10-12 players.

-League Play: ‍At FGLC, we run an in-house league for the 14U program where all practices and matches are held at FGLC. The 17U teams are part of a local league where we play and practice at FGLC as well as matches at other facilities in the metro area.

-The PGA Jr. League Format: Each team is broken down into two or three-person pairs who play together in games. ‍ All PGA Jr. League games are played in a scramble format. This means that each players on the team hit drives. The best shot is selected, then each player plays from the selected spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed. ‍ The scramble format is key in allowing everyone to hit shots and contribute to the team. PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, which focuses on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf. ‍ Within a PGA Jr. League game, pairs play in a head-to-head, 9-hole match. Each match is broken into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row, and each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag.

FGLC Fall 14u PGA Jr. League

Fall is one of the best times to be on the course – the weather is perfect, the fairways are in great shape, and the competition is friendly. Our Fall Junior Golf League is designed to help young golfers build real skills, develop confidence, and fall in love with the game in a welcoming, structured environment. This session features a once-per-week schedule that includes practices or matches.

Practices: 4 PM – 6 PM on 8/26, 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7

Matches: 8 AM or 10 AM Starting on 8/29

Matches should take just under two hours to complete and will start at 8 AM and 10 AM. As a reminder, the “PGA Membership” fee covers the cost of the jerseys and team kits. This is an annual fee that covers all PGA Jr League programs that you might register your child for in 2026. The subsequent 2026 Summer, Fall, and Simulator Leagues will not include this fee since you will have already paid it in the spring season!

9u Summer League

The 9U PGA Jr League at FGLC is designed for younger juniors to learn the game and get comfortable with on-course play. This program is ideal for beginner 8-9-year-olds as well as all juniors 6-7 years old. Advanced and more experienced 8-9-year-old juniors are still welcome to join the older 13U if that is a better fit. This league will play shorter tee boxes than the 13U program to enhance playability and ensure a proper pace of play.

Practices are on Wednesdays at 4 PM, 5 PM, or 6 PM, and are 55 minutes in length. Matches are on Saturday Mornings at 10 AM (except for two matches in session 2 at 8 AM). Matches will take 90 minutes to complete. As a reminder, the “PGA Membership” fee covers the cost of the jerseys, team kits, and the “My PGA” app. This is an annual fee that covers all PGA Jr League programs that you might register your child for in 2026. The subsequent 2026 Summer, Fall, and Simulator Leagues will not include this fee since you will have already paid it!

Summer 17u League

Practices will start on Saturday, 5/30, @ 1:00 PM, and then switch to Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 PM on 6/2. The overall schedule will consist of weekly practices at FGLC, scrimmage matches against all of our players at FGLC, as well as matches against other teams. The match schedule will be updated once the matches are scheduled with the other team captains. More experienced and advanced 13-year-old players are welcome to join the 17U program if we feel that this program is a better fit.
